Grand Sierra Casino Player Hits Jackpot of $544K on Video Slot in Reno

A gentleman from California experienced a stroke of luck this past Sunday at Reno, Nev.’s Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. Identified as Jessy R., the fortunate individual placed one final $8 bet, the game’s maximum amount, before he was about to call it a day. It had been only 10 minutes since he began playing the slot machines, yet he had already hit the jackpot. The International Game Technology (IGT) Wheel of Fortune High Roller video slot game awarded him a grand progressive bonus win of $544,663.

Jessy R. chose to remain anonymous, and when presented with a check for his winnings, he concealed his face with a pair of sunglasses, a blue surgical mask, and a Los Angeles Lakers cap.

The Grand Sierra Casino then tweeted their congratulations to the winner, and noted that this was the first time Jessy R. had ever played at their property. In January, another local resident had also been fortunate enough to collect a jackpot of $1,258,232.29 on the Buffalo Diamond slot machine.

Caesars Entertainment has also had its fair share of winners in the last week. On Wednesday, a video poker player was awarded $100K at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. The following day, another anonymous Caesars Rewards member won a Mega Jackpot of $193,487 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Last Friday, a visitor to Caesars Palace Las Vegas went home with $101,375 after playing video poker.

Two more wins were achieved at Caesars Palace in late February. One person won $489,649 on the Red, White and Blue slot machine and another walked away with $240,000 from playing video poker. Finally, Los Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers clinched $514,837 at Three Card Poker on February 4th.

What an incredible string of luck for all the lucky winners!
