Robbers Target Casino-Goers in California and New York

A 22-year-old man was recently apprehended for a series of robberies in San Jose, California that included theft from casino car parks. Brian Valverde from San Jose was indicted for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and grand larceny, according to the Mercury News. Valverde is said to have snatched a woman’s bag in the car park of the Bay 101 casino on the 5th of January. Furthermore, he is alleged to have brandished a knife and a firearm when he confronted a female employee in the Casino M8trix parking lot on the 23rd of January. As the woman attempted to flee, Valverde allegedly discharged a pellet gun at her, with a projectile striking her shoe. On the 30th of January, Valverde was arrested and booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail on the following day. He was still in custody as of Friday morning, with no bail being set by a judge.
