Richard “Boz” Bosworth, President and CEO of JC Hospitality and majority owner of the gaming venue, Virgin Las Vegas, will be concluding his tenure as Chief Executive Officer at the end of March this year. The announcement was made yesterday by Vital Vegas.
Bosworth has been at the helm of the off-Strip casino-resort since its opening two years ago. This follows the news of Chad Brown leaving his role as chief marketing officer of Virgin and JC Hospitality for a new role at Dollar Loan Center.
Bosworth has been the architect of the ‘interesting operating structure’ of the casino-hotel, which includes Mohegan (gaming and leisure arm of Connecticut’s Mohegan Tribe) managing the casino, AEG Live managing the theater, Hilton’s Curio Collection managing the hotel and Betfred managing the sportsbook. This structure has proved successful, with 2022 being the venue’s best year on record, outstripping performance under the Hard Rock name. Virgin Las Vegas is one of only three Las Vegas venues whose casino is managed by a Native American tribe.
Bosworth is now moving on to pursue new ventures in hospitality, while still maintaining his investor status. It is unclear what his next step is, but he will likely devote more time to his company Bosworth Hospitality Partners. This company focuses on large-scale casino and hotel investments and smaller deals that traditional financing sources often don’t cover.
With Richard “Boz” Bosworth departing his role as CEO at the end of this month, the future of Virgin Las Vegas will be an interesting one to watch.
